THE JOSEPH P. KENNEDY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS  

Kennedy's Wildcat Den has donated $10,000 towards scholarships to deserving UK students for many years. These awards were renamed the Joseph P. Kennedy Scholarships in 2001, in honor of the founder and president. Kennedy’s Wildcat Den continues the tradition and this year, once again, ten outstanding students were awarded scholarships. Besides having excellent grades, the candidates must be involved in extracurricular activities, especially benefiting charitable organizations.

Sibi Rajendran is a Freshman from Frankfort, KY majoring in Biology with minors in Neuroscience and Chemistry. He is an active member of the UK Quizbowl Team, volunteers at the UK Transplant Center, as well as volunteering as a biology tutor. Sibi has received numerous academic achievements, such as the United States Army Award for Excellence in Scientific Research.
 
Forrest Miller is a Sophomore from Louisville, KY majoring in Marketing and Management. Forrest is a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, is a former Executive chair of the Student Government Association, as well as a Marketing Intern for UK Athletics Marketing Department.
 
Lee Foster is a Junior from Owensboro, KY majoring in Economics and Marketing with a minor in International Business. Lee is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, where she serves as an Executive Council member, a member of the Programming Committee for DanceBlue, as well as Campus Campaign and Operations Coordinator for Teach for America.
 
Corinna Hughes is a Junior from Columbia, KY majoring in Nursing. Corinna is an Executive Board Member of the Voices for Planned Parenthood, a member of the National Black Nurses Association, as well as Vice President of Phi Sigma Theta.
 
Matthew Fahrbach is a Junior from Louisville, KY majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. Matthew is a Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Calculus I, a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, as well as a member of the UK Concert Band.
 
Alex Wade is a Senior from Lexington, KY majoring in Biosystems Engineering. Alex is set to graduate this May and will begin Medical School in the Fall. Alex is actively involved in Habitat for Humanity, President of the Sigma Chi fraternity, as well as Family Relations Chair on the Family Relations Committee for DanceBlue.
 
Jacob Sword is a current candidate for his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Jacob is from Lexington, KY, and received his Undergraduate Degree from Georgetown College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude as well as a 2011 NAIA Academic All American in Track and Field. Jacob is a current volunteer for Give Kids a Smile, Habitat for Humanity, as well as the Ronald McDonald House.
 
Lauren Hatfield is a current Doctor of Pharmacy student from Evarts, KY. Lauren received her Bachelors Degree in Biology from Alice Lloyd College. Lauren is a Member of the Kentucky Alliance of Pharmacy Students, Member of the Lambda Kappa Sigma International Pharmacy fraternity, as well as a former volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.
 
Raevti Bole is a current Medical Student from Toronto, Ontario. Raevti received her Bachelors from the University of Toronto, as well as her Masters in Biotechnology from Columbia University in New York. Raevti is a current Student Health Advisory Council member at UK, as well as the Dean’s Student Committee on Admissions for the UK College of Medicine.
 
Andrew Parks is a current Doctor of Medicine Candidate from the UK College of Medicine. Andrew is from Lexington, KY and received his Bachelors of Arts in Biology, Business Administration and Economics from Bellarmine University, where he graduated Magna CumLaude and was a member of the Bellarmine Men’s Basketball Team.
